The dust protection level of IP is classified according to the standards of IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission), which consists of two digits. The first digit represents the dust protection level, ranging from 0 to 6, and the larger the digit, the stronger the dust protection ability. The following are specific descriptions of each dust protection level:
IP0X: No protection, no special dust protection.
IP1X: It can prevent solid objects larger than 50 millimeters from entering.
IP2X: It can prevent solid objects larger than 12 millimeters from entering.
IP3X: It can prevent solid objects larger than 2.5 millimeters from entering.
IP4X: It can prevent solid objects larger than 1 millimeter from entering.
IP5X: It can prevent harmful dust accumulation, but it is not enough to completely prevent dust from entering.
IP6X: Completely dust-proof, no dust entering.
These levels help users understand the dust resistance of devices in different environments, and thus choose devices that are suitable for specific usage environments. For example, IP68 rated devices are not only completely dust-proof, but also able to prevent water intrusion under certain water pressure and temperature conditions, making them suitable for environments that require high protection
